I have no idea how one-sided this writeup is of what happened to Filmloop. And there’s no doubt that even if it is true, it’s not completely representative of how most VCs operate. That said, even if you assume that the VC did the right thing, and it was time to cut their losses, as the person on the other side of the equation, I don’t ever want to be in a position where someone else is deciding our fate. Money comes with strings. This is neither a good or a bad thing. It’s just reality.
