Mood Board Week at Jackson Fish!
It’s no secret that a lot of designers use mood boards as a way of kicking off the creative process. What’s a mood board, you ask? It’s a collage of colors, typography, and images that together, helps to inspire a personality/theme/experience. But don’t be fooled into thinking it’s merely a decorating exercise. There are elements to the mood board that may inspire how something behaves or how it’s supposed to make someone feel.
So this week I’m sharing some of the mood boards we’ve created for the products we’ve launched over the past year and a half. Obviously, there was tons more work that happened after this step but hopefully, you can see the initial inspiration in the final output.

Oh my goodness…I haven’t seen that “How Babies are Made” book in years (it’s probably in the basement somewhere ;). Only slightly graphic for kids, but it did have pretty cool methods for the paper cutting. Interesting to see it was used as inspiration!
