Help us give away 100,000 free children’s books online from A Story Before Bed to parents in the U.S. Military.

Today we’re on a mission, and we need your help.

When we first launched A Story Before Bed, almost a year ago, we knew that we wanted to help parents and grandparents connect with their kids and grandkids through reading. But one of the first thoughts we had once we decided to build A Story Before Bed was that we should give the service away free to parents in the military. These are people who spend weeks, months, or longer away from their children all in service to their country. We think the least we can do is give them a way to stay connected with their distant families while they’re away. So today we’re announcing that we’re giving away 100,000 free recordings to deployed or deploying parents in the U.S. Armed Forces. We’ve been testing this program and have already given away 3,400 free recordings to service members. But we have 96,600 to go. And that’s going to be hard work so we need your help.

Here’s what you can do to help.

  • Watch and share the above video with friends and family serving in the military. (Here’s a YouTube version also.)
  • Send military parents to our signup page at http://www.astorybeforebed.com/military
  • If you’re on Facebook, head over to that page yourself and click on the “Like” button.
  • Even better, go record a free story on A Story Before Bed and share the recording with your Facebook friends letting them know that they can do it too and to spread the word to folks in the military.

If you’re a deployed or deploying parent or spouse in the military, please head over to our signup form so we can send you a free subscription.

If you’re a Family Readiness Coordinator or in a similar role at a U.S. Military base, please get in touch via e-mail or call us toll free at 1-888-947-8679 to discuss ways we can get free recordings to the military parents you’re working with.
