Which super power would you choose?
Awhile ago in the office we had a debate over which super power would be best to have. (Yes we have plenty to do, but these types of debates are apparently just as important as actual work.) I remember hearing an episode of This American Life where the debate was between flying and invisibility. The main argument I remember was one woman saying that invisibility would be the clear winner because you could watch famous people have sex.
We injected a third option into the discussion – mind reading. I think that may make it a lopsided choice as mind reading clearly is preferable to the other two, but maybe that’s just me.
Which super power would you choose if you could?

I love that all three of you responded to your own post. I think I have to go with Jenny though. I want to know what everyone is really thinking. It would probably drive me crazy eventually, but I think it would be cool for a while.

If i could have any power it would be to heal, not just heal the sick but heal anything. Mother nature, the trees, our land, the air, there was once a shoe on tv where these kids could combine there powers and form this guy who could fix or heal nature (sorry it has been a few years but it was capt ?).
I would like to be him, he could realy make a diffrence. If the
world had all the food, water and ferrel land maybe we could put our diffrences away and stop killing each other and the world around us. Live with nature and understand our limitations, Mother Earth can only support so many of us, lets watch our numbers also.

I think you are referring to Captain Planet. All the kids wore rings that represented different powers of nature, like Wind, Fire, Water, Earth and Heart. By the way, the African kid, Kwame, was voiced by Lavar Burton :)

I think I’d go with telekinesis, a versatile and altogether awesome ability. With a bit of practice, it could probably double as a poor man’s flight. You might even be able to become a superhero (an unbadass version of Darth Vader). I suspect that, even better than being able to spy on people having sex, it would be useful in your bedroom.

Oh my god, these are incredibly uneducated comments. Have any of you ever read a comic? Geez… probability manipulation, temporal displacement, power absorption. Good grief, reality manipulation would be an obvious one.
